Rallyhood Start Flow

Based off of user feedback and a usability discovery phase, the Product team found that it took a new Rallyhood user over 30 clicks to activate their account and invite their friends. By understanding the target audiences' personas, Laura prioritized the user's needs and match the design experience to those needs.
Wireframes
By beginning with a "mobile first" process, Laura was able to single out the functions and affordances that were most relevant to the user's priorities when activating an account with Rallyhood. The Product team mapped out the user paths within the product and cut down unnecessary roadblocks that popped up.
The focus then transitioned onto the Start Flow browser layout. This browser layout was easily illustrated with wireframe mockups based off of already existing mobile designs.
Final Product
The Solution: Simplify the "Create an Account" process by condensing information into three parts: creating the Rally, identifying the owner of the Rally, and inviting 1–3 friends. By adding a progress bar in the navigation bar, the user is able to trust the process will only take a small amount of time. Laura also simplified the UI by using color as a way to highlight user instructions and actionable affordances.
